A full-day PreCon at Daten-WG on October 14 in Cologne.
Michael Tenner and I spend the day on the question that sits at the start of every report: core visual, custom visual, or Deneb and SVG.
Morning cover gestalt principles, visual vocabulary and data modelling. In the afternoon are two deep dives on the same data model, tables and matrices first, then time series with variances.
You build all three levels yourself. You leave with a scoring matrix you’ve filled in and weighted for your own environment, and a recommendation you can defend in your team. The example is sales and controlling, the principles apply to anyone maintaining recurring reports. Tickets are on the Daten-WG site.
